The volume meter below should show some signal (preferably in green) when you speak to the microphone:
If you also want to test your speakers click the play button below and you should hear yourself while speaking.
Warning: if you're not using headphones, pressing play will cause feedback, which indicates it's working ;-)
Please note, that while you can change the audio input source here, you can select the output destination only in your operating system's sound settings.
If your audio equipment is not working properly, please find your issue and its solution below.
Volume meter does not show anything.
Check if your microphone is not muted, also check if it is enabled in your operating system (there should be the speaker icon located near the top right or the bottom right of the screen to check this). Sometimes you have to unplug and replug the microphone to get it working.
Volume meter shows very little signal.
Boost your microphone volume using settings in your operating system's mixer (there should be the speaker icon located near the top right or the bottom right of the screen to open mixer).
I cannot hear myself despite volume meter shows some input.
Probably your browser audio output is redirected to a different device if you have more than one speaking device connected, or it is simply muted. To check the cause and fix the problem open your system sound settings. Usually, to get there, you will have to click the speaker icon located near the top right or the bottom right of the screen, and choose "Sound Settings" from the menu. Then, find your browser on the "Playback" tab, set its volume to 100% and select the adequate output device.
